STUDIO CITY, Calif. — A 15-year-old student was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of Campbell Hall, a private K-12 school in Studio City, police said.
The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., when the teenager was hit and caught between two vehicles, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson David Cuellar. Paramedics rushed the boy to a nearby hospital along with his father, who was not injured. The teenager was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
“It’s just a tragic incident overall,” Cuellar said, describing the circumstances as under investigation.
Authorities said the driver of a green Rivian involved in the crash is cooperating with police. The driver was not arrested, and police do not believe the incident to be criminal in nature.
Campbell Hall is an independent Episcopal day school serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The school has yet to respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press.
