A 31-year-old man suffered injuries in a motorcycle crash on Highway 29 at Hoffman Lane on Thursday.
Reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated that Ernesto Avina of Napa was operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle southbound on the highway. At the same time, 55-year-old Leonard Oram of Fairfield was driving a Ford van northbound.
Oram then made a left turn into the motorcycle’s path, and the two vehicles collided.
Avina sustained major injuries in the crash. He was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center via a ground ambulance.
Meanwhile, no information was available regarding the condition of Oram.
The CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in this collision. However, they are conducting further investigation.
To prevent motor vehicle accidents, stay alert and drive defensively. When crossing a busy intersection, exercise due caution. Always activate your turn signal or blinker before making any turns. Be aware of your blind spots and pull into the roadway slowly. If you are turning in a road where there is no dedicated left-turn signal or lane, be patient and make sure there is no obstruction to your view.
