California – The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is taking significant steps to aid individuals affected by the ongoing wildfires in Southern California.

As part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s State of Emergency and Executive Order, the department is expanding support and flexibility for those in need.

CDPH is issuing waivers, eliminating or limiting fees, and expanding coverage for its various public health programs to help ease the burden on residents in the affected areas.

These actions include streamlining processes, enhancing access to essential services, and providing widespread approval for expanded response efforts.

“Across our entire department, our teams are working toward the shared goal of supporting Californians impacted by these wildfires and easing their pain in whatever ways possible,” said Dr. Tomás Aragón, CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer.

“Public health isn’t just about supporting physical health, but also mental health, document recovery, food supply, logistics, recovery safety, and other essential needs.”

To support those affected, CDPH has created a centralized online resource for wildfire response information at go.cdph.ca.gov/wildfires.
