NAPA COUNTY, CA — This Friday, March 7, Napa County will carry out a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise to enhance the community’s readiness and response capabilities in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). The training, organized by the Napa County Office of Emergency Services in coordination with state and local agencies, aims to simulate a realistic MCI scenario involving emergency responders, hospitals, law enforcement, and other public safety agencies.
The exercise will take place at various, clearly marked locations across the county during daytime hours. Role players will act as victims and casualties, while first responders will engage in coordinated response activities. Although the event is a simulation, efforts will be made to ensure that it mimics the reality of an actual emergency as closely as possible.
Residents of Napa County are advised to avoid the designated exercise zones, as emergency response activities could result in temporary disruptions in some areas. The county encourages the public to remain patient and understanding as responders conduct the training.
In addition to participating in the exercise, the Napa County Office of Emergency Services is urging residents to take proactive steps to prepare for emergencies. These steps include staying informed about local risks, developing a family emergency plan, building an emergency supply kit, and engaging in community preparedness initiatives.
“By participating in this exercise, we aim to strengthen the collaboration among emergency responders and enhance our overall readiness in the face of a major crisis,” said Spokesperson Brieanna Jones. “We appreciate the public’s support as we work together to improve our community’s preparedness.”
