Vacaville, CA — U.S. Representative Mike Thompson, a Democrat from St. Helena, recently hosted a “Coffee With Our Congressman” event in Vacaville, where he engaged with over 200 constituents on March 17. The community event, held at Journey Downtown, provided an opportunity for local residents to meet Thompson in person and discuss pressing issues facing the nation.

The event, part of a series of similar gatherings across the Fourth District, allowed attendees to voice concerns and ask questions about the latest developments from Washington, D.C. Thompson noted that many residents, regardless of their political affiliation, expressed frustration over what they described as “chaos” emerging from the current Administration.

“Residents from both parties showed up, and it was clear from the beginning that many were concerned about the ongoing turmoil,” Thompson said. “As your Congressman, I’m working to fight back against the President’s unlawful actions in Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion.”

The March 17 event in Vacaville was part of Thompson’s ongoing efforts to connect with his constituents. Similar events took place in Sonoma on March 19 and Middletown on March 21, drawing further attention to concerns over federal policies and leadership.

In his remarks, Thompson also thanked those who attended and others who had reached out to his office through phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication. “Thank you to the over 200 community members who attended Monday’s event, and the countless more who have written me, called my office, and raised their voices against this administration’s unlawful and unethical actions,” Thompson stated. “There’s a reason that Republican leaders are urging their party not to hold town halls. Americans are rightfully angry over threats to their personal data, health care, veterans’ services, Social Security, and more. The President and his party are losing in the court of public opinion.”

Thompson’s remarks reflect growing dissatisfaction with the current Administration, particularly in relation to issues like personal data privacy, healthcare access, and the protection of social programs. His criticism of the President’s actions, both in Congress and beyond, aligns with a broader effort to appeal to voters who are increasingly concerned about federal policies and their impact on everyday life.

These events serve as a key part of Thompson’s outreach strategy, allowing him to directly engage with the concerns of his constituents while also providing a platform for discussion on vital issues. As political tensions remain high, Thompson’s ongoing town halls offer a space for dialogue amid the national debate over leadership and policy direction.
