NAPA, CA — A Napa man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting left another man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

The Napa Police Department responded to a local hospital on March 20, where a victim had been brought in by a family member for treatment. Upon arrival, patrol officers made contact with the man, who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim’s injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives from the Napa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit quickly located the crime scene in a parking lot situated in the 2900 block of Jefferson Street. Following a thorough investigation, detectives gathered evidence linking 20-year-old Eduardo Ledesma of Napa to the shooting.

The following day, on March 21, law enforcement officials, including members of the Napa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit and Critical Response Team, along with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office Critical Response Team, executed several search warrants throughout Napa. Their efforts led to the arrest of Ledesma.

Ledesma was subsequently booked into Napa County Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon likely to cause great bodily injury, and negligent discharge of a firearm. Jail records show that he remained in custody without bail as of Monday.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed whether Ledesma and the victim were acquainted or provided any further details regarding a potential motive for the shooting.

Police are continuing to investigate the case, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Marcus Martinez at mmartinez@cityofnapa.org.

The Napa Police Department continues to urge the public to come forward with any additional information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
