SANTA ROSA, Calif. — A man died Sunday morning after his recreational vehicle caught fire near the intersection of Ridgway and Cleveland avenues, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 11:41 a.m. following reports of an RV engulfed in flames. When fire and police personnel arrived, they located a man inside the burning vehicle and quickly worked to extract him.
Despite efforts by medical responders to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Rosa Police Department’s Violent Crime Investigations Team responded and took over the case. While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, authorities stated that no foul play is suspected at this time.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Police said further details would be made available as the investigation progresses.
