SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A British Airways flight attendant was arrested after being discovered dancing naked during a transatlantic flight departing from San Francisco International Airport, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
The flight, scheduled to depart just before 5 p.m. on Sunday and bound for London, was underway when fellow crew members noticed the 41-year-old steward was absent during meal service. A search was initiated, leading the in-flight crew boss to locate the man in the Club World cabin restroom, reportedly “jigging up and down” in a state of undress.
According to reports from The Sun, the crew responded promptly by providing the flight attendant with spare pajamas intended for First Class passengers. He was then escorted to a luxury seat in the cabin where he remained for the remainder of the 10-and-a-half-hour flight.
Upon landing at London Heathrow Airport, the man was taken into custody by Metropolitan Police on suspicion of being unfit for duty. Medical personnel assessed his condition following the incident. The police later confirmed that he has since been released.
British Airways has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the flight attendant’s behavior.
