LOS ANGELES, CA — A violent attack involving a machete in Downtown Los Angeles left one man dead and another injured in the early hours of the morning, authorities reported.
The incidents occurred shortly after midnight at two separate locations. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to a call about a stabbing victim near Grand Avenue and Eleventh Street. The victim, a man in his 60s, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Minutes later, police found a second victim, a man in his 30s, near Broadway and Olympic. He was also taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Responding officers located a shirtless suspect at 15th Street and Broadway, reportedly carrying a weapon believed to be the machete used in the attacks. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding the motive behind the attacks. The LAPD continues to investigate.
