NAPA COUNTY, CA — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after a crash involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet on Wooden Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. as the motorcyclist, riding a Triumph, was traveling northbound on Wooden Valley Road. As the rider navigated a curve, he lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down. The motorcycle slid and collided with the right front tire of a southbound Chevrolet, pinning the rider beneath the vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet, along with a witness who had been trailing the motorcycle, rushed to assist in lifting the vehicle off the rider. Despite their efforts, the rider was trapped under the car. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and were able to extract the motorcyclist, but he was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The crash prompted the closure of Wooden Valley Road at the 1700 block in both directions for several hours. Authorities reopened the road around 5 p.m. after the investigation was completed.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released, and the cause of the crash is under investigation. The CHP is urging anyone with additional information to come forward as they continue their inquiry into the tragic accident.
