Napa, CA – The Napa Special Investigations Bureau (NSIB) recently seized a significant cache of illegal substances and firearms following an investigation that began with a routine traffic stop.

On January 28, 2025, Vallejo resident Joseph Collins, 28, was arrested by Napa police for speeding. During the arrest, officers allegedly discovered seven baggies containing a gram of cocaine in each. The discovery prompted a follow-up investigation by NSIB, which led to a search warrant being executed at Collins’ residence in Vallejo on February 4, 2025.

Upon searching the home, authorities reportedly found approximately three pounds of cocaine, along with packaging materials, scales, cash, a money counter, MDMA powder, and psilocybin mushrooms. The search also yielded five firearms and several high-capacity magazines, further complicating Collins’ legal situation.

NSIB officials stated that investigators are pursuing charges in both Napa and Solano counties, with Collins facing serious drug and firearms-related offenses. The seizure represents a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession in the region.

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether Collins has retained legal representation or entered a plea. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to determine the full scope of his alleged criminal activities.
