NAPA, Calif. — Two Napa residents were arrested Monday following a lengthy investigation into the alleged sale of fentanyl and other narcotics, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Napa Special Investigations Bureau executed a search warrant in the 4100 block of Solano Avenue in Napa, leading to the arrests of Deleana Bridge, 51, and Joshua Cariela, 32.

During the search, investigators allegedly discovered more than two ounces of powdered fentanyl, along with methamphetamine and a variety of narcotic pills. Authorities believe the substances were intended for sale.

Both Bridge and Cariela were taken into custody and booked into the Napa County jail. They face multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of controlled substances, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The Sheriff’s Office said the arrests mark a significant development in an ongoing effort to curb the distribution of dangerous narcotics in the region.

Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid many times more potent than heroin, has been linked to a sharp rise in overdose deaths across California and the nation.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation remains active.
